Frequently asked questions.

What kinds of things do people come to therapy for?

Anything! People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons, but mostly because there is something In their lives they are hoping to change. This could be learning to deal with anxiety or depression, processing past trauma, or simply learning new skills to improve relationships or help with life transitions. If there is something in your life that you would like to see change, therapy could be right for you!

What happens if I don’t like the therapy or if the therapist DOESN'T feel like a good fit?

My main goal as your therapist is to make sure the therapy is supportive and helpful to you. If it isn’t feeling that way, I am very open to changing tactics or talking about how we can make it more helpful! If that still doesn’t do the trick, I am happy to help you find a referral that might be a better fit for your needs.

Do I need to have anything prepped to come into therapy?

There is no wrong way to do therapy, so you do not have to prep anything before the initial therapy appointment. Occasionally I might have suggestions about things to try over the weeks, but we can work together to figure out what would be best to focus on in therapy!

How long do clients stay in therapy for?

This is something that varies from person to person. The basic answer for my practice is that clients can stay until they feel as though their goals are met, or that the therapy is no longer needed.

how does the superbill REIMBURSEMENT option work?

The superbill reimbursement option is a way for you to utilize your out of network benefits through your insurance. This basically means that you would pay the fee up front and at the end of each month, I would provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company. They would then reimburse you their agreed upon amount. This option is not available for every insurance plan, so make sure you call your insurance provider to check what out of network benefits you have!
